Rented the civic center for my daughter's first birthday for Sunday September 11th ... $100 deposit and $125 to rent it for a 24 hour period were you get deposit back if you fallow rules no alcohol, no smoking, clean place before you leave well daughter's party which was due to start at 2pm we got there at 11am ample time before to decorate, finish her cake and cook but nstead of decorating it for her party and doing the things I needed to I was forced into having to clean the place up because of the day before renters there was trash everywhere, empty alcoholic beverages and beer cans everywhere as well as cake stand turned upside down smeared cake on the floor and cigarette ashes an butts in bathrooms and other places in the building sticky remains all on floors smelt of grape soda and alcohol. Mess on counters and stuff left in fridge... Needlessly to say we were so busy cleaning their mess we had no time to decorate or do much of anything even though we called/messaged the guests to push party a hour later to 3pm instead of the original 2pm and barley had time to just get tables out and table cloths and a few balloons in air and guests started showing at 2:45 no time for any thing so while my husband tried to explain the situation to family and friends they understood but thought it was wrong for us to be responsible for the previous renters mess. Trying to make the best of the horrible situation and not having time for the burgers an hotdogs we ordered pizza and by 4:15 the previous renters show up pulling in front demanding to come in to get the stuff they left I explained to the Hispanic woman that she had no right to be their that it was our day and how could she leave the mess around the place and she explained she was there at 6am "cleaning" for which she was not allowed to be there after midnight but that's not really the issue she left the place so bad that I couldn't enjoy a day that was supposed to be for my daughter that and barging in and after I had her leave adding insult to injury she had her husband come by 20 min later to remove the trash on porch which had allot of empty alcohol beverages in it as if to try to hide the evidence of it than 15 min later a cop shows up and starts questioning me about all that had happened I explained and he had the people leave I am devastated and will never rent the civic center again for destroying what was supposed to be a happy day.
